Written by Holly Interlandi. Art and Cover by Sally Cantirino. Nicky Marshall was saved by rock and roll - or so he likes to think. The music takes them to Los Angeles, raw and gritty and teeming with personalities. Nicky thinks they're ready for stardom, but no one's ever ready for stardom. This first of four oversized issues begins in the 1980s, grows out of grassroots clubs & introduces Ecstasy to the world - whether it's ready for them or not. From the brand new team of Holly Interlandi on scripts and Sally Cantirino on pencils & inks, this unique, heartbreaking story is about letting the music in... how it changes you and affects everyone around you, for better & worse. 64 pages, B&W. Story and art by Carmine Di Giandomenico and Francesco Colafella.
Acclaimed creator CARMINE DI GIANDOMENICO (The Flash, Daredevil: Battlin' Jack Murdock) and rising star FRANCESCO COLAFELA present the true story of LEONE, an Italian man who immigrated to the U.S. to find fortune, freedom, and jazz and left it again to save lives. From the stage of his last concert in New York City, through the sound of his trumpet, Leone recounts his past and his future in an emotional, nonlinear memoir made of music and memories.
Step into the shoes of an American immigrant in this timely tale about spreading love and strength wherever you go and never forgetting where you came from.
REGISTER PITCH: A true story-in the tradition of such American immigrant narratives as American Born Chinese and The Best We Could Do - that's infused with jazz music culture.

Life House HC (2024 Image) #1SL-1ST$40.00
$40.00
This edition features a vegan leather-bound slipcase!
1st printing. Based on the Screenplay by Pete Townshend. Adapted by James Harvey and David Hine. Art by James Harvey and Max Prentis. Cover by James Harvey and Dean Paris. An original graphic novel based on rock music legend Pete Townshend's 1970 screenplay of the same name, which inspired The Who's 1971 globally bestselling and universally beloved album, WHOI'S NEXT. Set in a dystopian future where music has been outlawed, LIFE HOUSE follows a small band of rebels who stage an underground concert in an effort to undermine a tyrannical leader...and free Britain and all of humanity. This graphic novelization is co-written by Doom Patrol's JAMES HARVEY and Spider-Man Noir's DAVID HINE, with art by both HARVEY and Australian visual artist MAX PRENTIS, lettering by MICHAH MYERS, and inks by Eisner Award-winning artist MICK GRAY. It is edited by the former editor-in-chief of Bleeding Cool, HANNAH MEANS-SHANNON, and features a massive vinyl LP format (12.25 x 12.25). This is a must-have for any serious music collectors, rock fans, and pop culture aficionados! Originally envisioned as a sci-fi rock epic to follow up The Who's chart-topping song, "Tommy," and put aside 50 years ago-in favor of Who's Next songs like "Baba O'Riley," "Won't Get Fooled Again," and "Behind Blue Eyes"-LIFE HOUSE** will finally take center stage. Hardcover (with Slipcase), 12-in. x 12-in., 172 pages, full color. Cover price $74.99.

Local magazine-sized comic book illustrated by Thom Enriquez and produced by Rock Comix for Chicago's WLUP radio station with parodies of popular celebrities, musicians, bands, and WLUP DJ's. Stories in this issue: 1) "The Evil Juanita Brian"; 2) Ronald-Ray-Gun vs. Jimmy Carter!"; 3) "Steve Dahl vs. Discoman (Dahl was one of the FM 98 DJs); "The Rock Band from Mars" (isn't that where most of them come from?); plus other stories. Also in the issue: An exclusive Keith Richard portraid; a Loops profile of Sky Daniels, and a "dynamite centerfold" with lettering influenced by the Mad comics. Full color, 36-pages, slick cover with newsprint interior.
Thom Enriquez only had a small handful of comics credits, primarily in Twisted Tales #9 and #10, both of which were published in 1984. However, he had a much more extensive career doing animation and live-action storyboard/character design credits, including the creature designs for the live-action Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters 2. His film industry and comics credits started in 1982, so this Disco Demolition book represents some of his earliest published material. Cover price $0.50. -

Written by Nicolas Finet. Art and cover by Christopher.
How did a very young messed up woman, a drug addict filled with doubt, become in a few years a planetary icon of rock music?
Janis Joplin went from the shadows to the blinding light of fame in only four records (the last one issued a month and a half after her tragic death). Thanks to a worldwide movement of emancipation which would consecrate for a long time the ideals and modes of alternative lifestyles from counterculture to the flower power generation, Janis, the ugly duckling, gave free rein to her impulses.
Joplin left for San Francisco, the epicenter of cultural innovation, where she lived a freedom of which she would hardly have dared to dream, abandoning herself to all impulses, overcoming without hesitation all the taboos of the time: bisexuality, alcohol, drugs, doing so not only with delight, but with the taste for excess which came naturally from her spontaneous character.

Story and art by Christopher.
Like the best rock n' roll bands, Love Song is four parts that harmonize the muddy and messy chords of life into a breathtaking resolution. United by a shared love of music, this collection of four "albums" is composed of a series of short stories, each running into the next like best cuts from your favorite records. And like a classic album, Love Song gets the joy and humor out of the way up front, letting the story wind its way into the dark and serious corners of adult life. Alternating between loud and quiet or hard and soft, this story will sink its hook into readers like a jingle or riff that just won't be easily forgotten.

It's the first day of seventh grade, and everything is going downhill for Lucy Sutcliffe. At school, her friends seem to be leaving her behind. At home, her single father is in a rut, and her perpetually wandering journalist mother is more absent than ever. Worse of all, Lucy's beloved grandmother is undergoing chemotherapy and is no longer the vital, unflagging presence that her family has come to depend on.
Then Lucy discovers the Beatles, gets a drumset, and decides to form a rock band. Things are suddenly looking up.

1st printing. Written by Austin Paramore. Art by Sarah Bollinger and Marika Cresta. Cover by Sarah Bollinger. Debut creator Austin Paramore and artist Sarah Bollinger strike a chord in this humorous and heartfelt story about love, loss, legacy, and the music that ties them all together. What does the perfect song sound like? Normally, Malcolm Kid wouldn't give this type of question the time of day. As a straight-B student with a heart of copper, he is far more concerned with overcoming mediocrity than he is with achieving perfection. But that all changes when he stumbles across the LK-2000-a strange keyboard cursed with the soul of an old jazz musician. Malcolm soon learns that the only way to free this musician's soul is by performing the perfect song. With much hesitation, and the help of his lifelong friend January Young, Malcolm embarks on a musical journey across the city of New Bronzeville in the hopes of discovering the perfect song and finding himself as a musician along the way. Written by Magdalene Visaggio. Art and Cover by Marley Zarcone. Where were you in '81? When the White House goes dark for 17 days in August, the president's spoiled daughter and her best friend Abe-who claims to be possessed by the spirit of Abe Lincoln-throw a rager at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, unearthing long dead historical figures and government secrets that are better off buried. Sex, drugs, rock 'n' roll séances, and secret passageways lead to time-bending mystical romps where past and present collide. But at what cost to Marilyn Kelleher, the world at large, and music television? Uniting the red-hot Eisner-nominated talents of writer Magdalene Visaggio (Eternity Girl, Kim and Kim) and artist Marley Zarcone (Shade, the Changing Girl, Effigy) for the first time, MARILYN MANOR explores identity, classism, appropriation, and friendship. It's a rollicking, neon party gone out of bounds when we need it most-set just in time for the greatest pop cultural marriage to date: MTV. 'We've been trying to capture the feel, the excitement, the energy of the rise of the New Romantics, of the decade that embraced excess and excitement in hugely over-the-top ways, and filled it with chaos and insanity. This is the weirdest thing I've ever written in the best way possible, like an apocalypse directed by John Hughes.' 28 pages, full color. Mature Readers Cover price $3.99.

Written by Seymour Chwast and Steven Brower. Art and cover by Seymour Chwast.
Revel in this commemoration of Elvis' life in the form of a large-format art book told through the unique vision of legendary graphic novelist, designer and illustrator Seymour Chwast. Beautifully illustrated throughout, it presents an enhanced portrait of one of America's greatest celebrities.
Spearheading a new music form that, combined with an attitude and a look, would change the world, Elvis Presley became one of the most important cultural figures of the second half of the 20th century.
With text by author Steven Brower (Satchmo: The Life and Art of Louis Armstrong), The Mighty Elvis reminds us of the continuing stardom of one of the most popular American singers of all time. Through Chwast's illustrations, cartoons, and comics we get to relive his early life, his meteoric rise to fame, and how he was affected by, and in turn affected, the world of music in the many genres he mastered. The book covers his first appearances on television, Graceland, his meeting with President Nixon, his wedding to Priscilla, his inspiration from Captain Marvel, Jr., and much more! Millions of fans loved him, purchased his records, attended his sold out shows and went to his thirty-three films. Death, forty years ago, has not diminished his fame. Elvis lives!
The Mighty Elvis celebrates, in art, design, and comics, the life of a great icon of American popular culture!
