This item is not in stock at MyComicShop. If you use the "Add to want list" tab to add this issue to your want list, we will email you when it becomes available.
This is the original 1945 edition published by McCay Features Synidicate. It can easily be confused with the 1969 reprint published by Nostalgia Press. In all essential features, the two editions are identical so collectors need to be aware that any copy they encounter is most likely the reprint. Wider than it is tall, this comic is is 11-in. x 7-in., two-tone black and brown ink cover with black and white interior pages, reprinting 14 classic Windsor McKay Sunday pages from 1905 to 1911. 1945 Edition. Introduction (13 August 1945) by author August Derleth. NOTE: Overstreet states that the original 1945 edition and the 1969 reprint are identical. However, the 1969 edition does have 36 pages (counting covers), so the 1945 edition, which Overstreet says has 24 pages, would be smaller at 24 pages assuming covers were not counted, or even at 28 pages if covers are added to the page count. Our guess is that both editions have 36 pages

Stories, art and cover by Winsor McCay. Sometimes listed as Blackthorne 3-D Series (1985) #13 (incorrectly listed as #11 in the indicia). Blackthorne Publishing presents another in its series of 3-D comics, this one featuring reprints of the Winsor McCays groundbreaking Little Nemo in Slumberland newspaper strip. Little Nemo is an obvious choice, as McCays beautiful pages were renowned for stretching the bounds of the art form, with wide vistas and gigantic characters and objects. Nemo dreams himself into the fantastic universe of King Morpheus, where he encounters princesses, rogues and strange adventures, but he always awakens just before catastrophe can strike. 32 pages, B&W with 3-D effects. Volume 1 - 1st printing. By Harold Gray. "Little Orphan Annie". Contains 86 of the original strips from 1926. Here is the one-and-only original Little Orphan Annie just as she appeared in The Chicago Tribune and other newspapers in 1925. In this complete series of strips Annie is at her resourceful best defending "daddy" Warbucks' financial empire against the nefarious doings of two memorable shemers – young, snobbish Selby Adelbert Piffleberry (dubbed 'S.A.P. by Annie) and the inimitably unsavory Count de Tour. Annie Sandy and "Daddy" Warbucks find themselves in plenty of tight spots in these 86 strips – but, naturally, good triumphs in the end. Softcover (Saddle-Stitched/Stapled), 58 pages, 6 1/2-in. x 10 1/2-in., B&W. Cover price $1.95.

Following their successful reprints of the classic Cupples & Leon Little Orphan Annie books, Pacific Comics Club continues reprinting the adventures of Harold Gray's indefatigable kid hero and her beloved blank-eyed supporting cast, including Daddy Warbucks, Punjab and the Asp, and of course Sandy. Unlike the Cupples & Leon books, which abridged some sequences, these volumes contain complete runs, including some previously unreprinted strips. Annie and Sandy's adventures on the road continue, as they catch a ride in a hot rod while crossing the desert, before finally making it back home to Daddy Warbucks.
