"The Broken Spur!", art by Bob Brown and Joe Maneely (splash page); When Juddy Hayes, a classmate of Randy Clayton, is determined to free his father from jail after he has been accused of murdering Mr. Grayson at the bank, Randy goes to warn his mentor the Rawhide Kid; The Rawhide Kid rushes into town and stops Juddy before he can set off explosives that would free his father from jail; He then rushes Juddy out of town where the boy tells the Rawhide Kid and Randy what happened the day his father was arrested: That his father went into the bank to see Mr. Grayson alone, Juddy heard two gunshots and went in. "Flaming Gem!", art by Bob Brown; Randy Clayton is playing marbles with his friend using a corker that a pair of outlaws named Slade and Kincaid recognize as fire opals; They approach Randy and as him about his corker and he tells them that he found it down by the river with a number of other similar rocks; Unaware of the value of his corker, Randy lets the men take a closer look at it; When they offer to buy it off Randy, he refuses and the men take it anyway tossing pennies at Randy and his friend; When Randy tries to fight to get his corker back, the Rawhide Kid arrives. Untitled story, art by Bob Brown and Joe Maneely (splash page); While camping out for the night the Rawhide Kid wakes up to find a cougar attempting to attack their horses; Although the Rawhide Kid manages to shoot the cougar dead, Randy's horse Smokey is too frightened to be useful anymore and the Kid has to tell his ward that Smokey needs to be put out to pasture; After dropping Smokey off at a rancher friend, the Rawhide Kid takes Randy into the town of Jackspir to find a new horse. 36 pgs., full color. "King Cobra!", art by Bob Brown; While out riding, the Rawhide Kid and Randy Clayton come across a strange snake that they have never seen before; Spooking Randy's horse causing the boy to be thrown from his steed, the snake is about to strike but is shot dead by the Rawhide Kid; The Kid and Randy take the snake back to Greg Tate, a retired professor who tells them that the snake is a Hooded King Cobra the most deadliest reptile in the world. "Desperate Hour!", art by Bob Brown; While out for a ride the Rawhide Kid and his ward Randy Clayton hear the pained cries of a mountain lion echoing through the range, the pair then split up to try and find the source of the noise; Randy finds the big cat first and notices that it is caught in a bear trap. 36 pgs., full color. "Quicksand!", pencils by Dick Ayers, inks by Ernie Bache; The Rawhide Kid and his young ward Randy Clayton are out on a ride when they spot a coyote chasing a rabbit near a patch of quicksand; They watch as the rabbit tricks the coyote into following him into the quicksand, the coyote gets stuck but the rabbit manages to flee; After saving the coyote from the quicksand, the Kid and Randy decide to investigate how the rabbit managed to survive. "Showdown" text story. "Six Gun Lesson!", pencils by Dick Ayers, inks by Ernie Bache; The Rawhide Kid happens past the ranch owned by a man named Barlow and witnesses him whipping one of his horses; Disliking how the horse is being treated the Kid pulls his gun and shoots the whip and then roughs up Barlow and his men; When he notices that all the horses have the Circle Q brand on them, Barlow tells the Kid that he bought the horses fair. "Sting of the Hornet!", pencils by Dick Ayers, inks by Ernie Bache; The Rawhide Kid is out for a ride where he comes across a dead body; Suspecting who the dead man might be, the Kid cannot know for sure because the man's guns are missing; After burying the dead man the Rawhide Kid returns to town and finds it under alert due to a sighting of an outlaw gunslinger named the Hornet. "Untamed!" "Trail to Ruin!", pencils by Dick Ayers, inks by Ernie Bache; The Rawhide Kid comes upon a freshly robbed stage coach and frees the tied up riders learning that they were robbed by a bunch of young kids. 36 pgs., full color. "The Lost Mine!", art by Dick Ayers; The Rawhide Kid is spying on the Fargo gang through a skylight in an abandoned building but can't make out what they are saying; Getting closer to the skylight causes a piece of broken glass to fall down, alerting them to his presence; The Kid smashes through the skylight; While he manages to shoot the guns out of the outlaws hands, they manage to knock him out and leave the Rawhide Kid tied up. "Showdown!", art by Dick Ayers; The Rawhide Kid and Randy Clayton are out riding on the range they come across a man tied to his horse; Going to his aid, they find that he is still alive and revive him; They learned that he was roughed up by a local gambler named Haskins. "Trapped!", art by Dick Ayers; The Rawhide Kid and Randy Clayton are out riding when they spot the drive team of a wagon running loose, they chase after the horses and get them to stop; They then follow their trail back to the wagon they came from and treat the driver and pull his wagon up right; They learn take him to Fort Slater, where he tells the captain that his escort at Blacksnake Mesa attacked him and robbed him of his supply of weapons. "Teacher's Trail" text story. "The Coward!", script by Stan Lee, pencils by Al Williamson, inks by Gray Morrow. "Gold Strike!", art by Dick Ayers; While riding into town the Rawhide Kid is told by some of Randy's friends that his ward is sick at the doctors; The Kid goes to the doctor and learns that young mister Clayton is sick from eating too much candy; When asking Randy how he got so much candy, Randy reveals that he struck gold and used some of it to buy the candy; Just as Randy is telling the Kid that he found the gold at Snake Creek, the Kid realizes that someone is spying at the window. 36 pgs., full color. "Pecos Justice!", art by Dick Ayers; The Rawhide Kid is present during the trial of Trigger Flaig; Expecting a guilty verdict he and the rest of the court room is shocked when Judge Jim Blake finds him innocent; When the locals try to react violently against Blake, the Kid stops them reminding them that they have to respect the decisions of the law. Untitled story, pencils by Dick Ayers, inks by Ernie Bache; The Rawhide Kid and Randy spot buzzards flying in the sky and race to their location to find a stagecoach that was apparently attacked by Comanches; Finding the crew of the stagecoach they also believe it is the work of Comanches. "Winner Take All!", pencils by Dick Ayers, inks by Ernie Bache; The Rawhide Kid pays a visit to the gambling den of Faro Price and orders him to takes his crooked games and leave town after he cheated a local rancher out of his ranch and live stalk; The Kid plays a high stakes game risking Randy Clayton's education on who can draw the higher card. 36 pgs., full color. Untitled story, art by Dick Ayers; A gang of outlaws smash the tax office of Shotgun City, escaping with the paperwork the tax collector had been compiling on back taxes and escape; When the Rawhide Kid comes to see what the commotion was about, he learns about the various tax dodgers that are holed up Bushwhacker County. "Retribution!", pencils by Dick Ayers, inks by Dick Ayers; Riding into town during a storm, the Rawhide Kid is greeted by Sheriff Ben Yarby who tells the Kid that a freak lightning strike managed to free Bat Kimball out of his cell, however they hope to capture him as the lightning had blinded him and they go out searching for him. 36 pgs., full color. "Indian Bow" text story. Untitled story, art by Dick Ayers; Rawhide Kid and his ward Randy Clayton are shut in during a storm when Randy suddenly notices a man standing in front of one of the windows; The Kid goes to the door and greets the man who asks for their help as he is being chased; He explains that he is Russ Howland the lawman for Javlin County and he has been chased by the Briggs brothers of whom he has warrants out for their arrest that will see them in jail for life. "The Last Roundup!", art by Dick Ayers; Witnessing a stampede of cattle, the Rawhide Kid and Randy Clayton rush in and manage to stop the herd; They are confronted by the cattle drivers who accuse the Kid of starting the stampede, but when they try to take him by force he shoots the guns out of their hands and tells them his story. "The Last Warning!", art by Dick Ayers; With a drought hitting Shotgun City water is scarce thanks in part to the Gore Brothers damming up their water so none of it gets to town; When the Rawhide Kid spots the Gore Brothers trying to take water from his trough, the Kid shoots their water bags and forces them off his property, but they vow to get revenge against him. "A Part of the West" text story. "Bullets or Ballots!", art by Dick Ayers; Tippy Cole and his gang try to enter Shotgun City, but the Rawhide Kid is there to block their way, telling them to scram or the sheriff will lock them up; However Tippy, who has studied law, tells the Rawhide Kid that Sheriff Ben Yarby's position as sheriff has expired that day and they don't have a legal sheriff in town. "The Scourge of the Plains!", art by Dick Ayers; The town of Shotgun City is on full alert when the ugly outlaw named Clem Boggs rides into town; When Boggs arrives and begins causing trouble, the Rawhide Kid easily disarms him and berates him based on his looks before sending Clem packing.
