Stories and art by Harold Abbey and others. Spunky looks quite a bit like Casper, but is actually a spinoff of Farrell's Frisky Fables series. Spunky becomes the sheriff of a Western ghost town - populated by ghosts, of course. Dopsy Durvy decides to "fix" the Jack and the Beanstalk story, and winds up confronting the giant himself. Pidgy Parrot uses his Magic Paint to sail to the South Seas, but runs afoul of the ocean god Neptune. Neddy and Betsy Bear try to rescue their friends, who have been turned to gingerbread by a witch. Dopsy Durvy learns the Cow That Jumped Over the Moon has been captured in transit by the Man on the Moon. Diggy the Derrick, a living construction shovel, gets a day off and goes on a ferry ride. Perhaps the most interesting aspect of this comic is the detailed explanation of the Comics Code seal that appears on the first page, as the CCA had just been established a short time before.
