1st printing, with the bibliographical note on pages 399 & 400 intact. The bibliographical note featured comic publishers cited in the work, but these publishers forced Rinehart & Co. to remove the page. However, several copies got out before the page was removed. Written by Fredric Wertham, M.D. "With the release of this book, Dr. Wertham reveals seven years of research attempting to link juvenile delinquency to comic books. Many illustrations showing excessive violence, sex, sadism, and torture are shown." This book led to the creation of the Comics Code Authority.
