"Life & Liberty" Plot by Kurt Busiek and Roger Stern. Script by Mark Waid. Pencils by Patrick Zircher. Inks by Randy Emberlin. Wraparound Cover by Patrick Zircher and Randy Emberlin. The star-spangled avenger and the golden avenger team up for another clash with their long-time mutual foe A.I.M.! However this encounter features an unusual ethical twist! The first part of the battle begins in typical fashion as Captain America storms A.I.M.'s facility where Mentallo is projecting his enhanced mental powers! But during the fight, Tony Stark taps into Mentallo's powers... and uses them to erase his secret identity from the minds of every person on Earth! Feeling somewhat guilty about his actions, Iron Man reveals his identity and his motive to a select group of avengers. All of his teammates are understanding except one: the Sentinel of Liberty! So when Cap and Shell-Head travel to the Caribbean (for the second part of their fight vs. A.I.M.), tensions are running high between the seasoned avengers! It's "Houston, we have a problem" time! And it's more than just MODOK! Cameo appearances by Happy Hogan, Pepper Potts, Giant-Man, Scarlet Witch, Thor, Vision, Wonder Man, and the Wasp. (Notes: This annual features a gatefold cover. This story was reprinted in 2010 in the trade paperback: Iron Man Captain America.) 48 pages. Cover price $3.50.
