Compiled by Eric Jackson. The absurd art of J.J. Grandville features one of the masters of satirical cartoons and a great inspiration for many artists that followed. Grandville utilized animals to showcase the follies and ludicrous behavior of mankind in social settings. Declared insane at the end of his life, many have said that only an insane mind couldve conceived of such illustrations. Although Grandville has slipped into obscurity for most people, his art is often used today as the basis for clip art files. 32 Pages, B&W. Cover price $2.50.
