    Stories by unknown. Art by Iger Shop. "Man-Hater" - Jane, rejected by her high society boyfriend Billie, vows to punish men for her humiliation. She specializes in exploiting servicemen. Her latest victim is soldier Ted, who inherits a farm. Jane agrees to marry him, but she's exposed as the "camp chiseler" by another soldier. Ted defends Jane and she admits she really loves him. Plus: "Love Blind" - Poor orphan Sally grows up starved for affection. She falls for shifty character Ace. When Ace is arrested for robbery, Sally tries to help him escape but winds up in prison herself. She realizes her blind craving for love caused her to make a poor decision. Also: "Money-Mad Baby" - Ellen flirts with her much older boss Mr. Swan and accepts expensive gifts from him. Although she loves sailor Dave, Ellen wants a rich husband. Mr. Swan turns out to be already married and just looking for a mistress; in a struggle, Ellen thinks she's killed him. Swan survives and Dave hopes Ellen has learned her lesson. And: "Give-Away Kisses" - Business executive Paula goes on vacation and visits her old friend Agnes. She tries to steal officer Clive from Agnes, but he loyally refuses. "Korean War Bride" with art by Don Heck - Undercover agent Shoshone saves Jack's life during the Korean War. They are married and return to the USA. Shoshone feels Jack's friends are only nice to her when he's around. She invites Jack's friend Dick in for tea, only to be mauled by the lecherous man. Jack comes home and saves his wife. His other friends apologize for being standoffish and promise to include her from now on. Plus: "Accused" with art by Pete Morisi - Danny is jealous of Kathy's friendship with petty crook Lou, who gives her expensive gifts. After the two men fight, Danny is signed by boxing promoter Chick and turns pro. Lou tries to use Kathy to set up Danny for a kidnapping, so he'll lose a big fight, but Kathy tells Danny about the scheme. Danny says he loves Kathy and they will face the future together. Also: "Passion" with art by Tewks - Ann runs a wrecking company, which works alongside Dan and Frenchy's companies on a big job. Ann and Dan fall in love. Ann prevents Frenchy from stabbing Dan in a work dispute, but when a fire breaks out, they all work together to save themselves and the site. And: "Heartaches" - Evelyn leaves her drunken and abusive husband Charles and gets a job at a newspaper, working for editor Ted. Charles commits suicide. Evelyn turns down Ted's offer of a date. He rescues her from a mugger; later, he's attacked by gangsters after a story about political corruption. Evelyn witnesses this assault and realizes she loves him. Plus: untitled Mildred Norton's Problem Page - Mary works to support her ailing mother and 3 younger brothers. She falls in love with Jim but has to decide between marriage and her family obligations. Mary and Mildred ask readers to write in and give advice. "Tragedy" with art by Marty Elkin - New lawyer Ralph wants to marry secretary Carol but she wants him to cultivate a successful clientele first. They go to Larry Lane's fancy nightclub. Larry offers Ralph a job but Ralph turns him down because of Larry's unsavory reputation. Carol breaks up with Ralph and dates Larry, but then falls for Larry's new lawyer Mal. After a chance meeting with Ralph, Carol decides to break up with Mal. A jealous Larry threatens to kill Mal but Ralph steps in and rescues Carol. They reconcile. Plus: "One More Chance" with art by Marty Elkin - Jill runs a lonely hearts agency but is unable to commit to romance with salesman Steve. Jill is swept off her feet by Wayne, a rich oilman from Texas. Steve discovers Wayne is actually Louis Menzer, a con man who wants to steal her client list and blackmail the lonely people. Jill finally gives her heart to Steve. Also: "Ecstasy" with art by Ken Landau - Jane goes on vacation to New England with Alice, the sister of her fiance Arthur. She and electric company lineman Jim fall in love. Arthur arrives and Jane summons the courage to break up with him and be with Jim. And: "Circus Freak" with art by Alvin C. Hollingsworth - Adrina's father trains her to be a great trapeze artist like her late mother. Adrina accepts a dinner invitation from Walter, although the man had mocked the circus performers, which upsets her fellow aerialist Armand. Adrina falls for Walter but discovers he's just using her and calls her a "circus freak" behind her back. A distraught Adrina nearly dies during her act but Armand saves her and they will be married. Plus: untitled Mildred Norton's Love Corner 1-pager with art by Ken Landau - Frances is left a widow with an infant son after her husband is killed in Korea. She falls in love with Lawrence but is afraid to tell him of her first husband and her son. Mildred asks readers to send in letters of advice for Frances. She marries her teacher, Michael. They go to work on a roadshow tour. Nancy becomes jealous of Michael's relationship with star Karen, but when Karen leaves the show to get married, Nancy plays the leading part and is a success. Michael apologizes for neglecting her. Plus: "Man Crazy" with art by Ken Landau - The "flirtatious and party seeking" Joan has many boyfriends and wants to find a rich husband, while her "pretty but homey" sister Connie is happy with Andy. Joan rejects the lecherous Marty and decides to steal Andy from her sister. Insanely jealous Marty catches Andy and Joan on a date and tries to kill them, but dies himself in an automobile accident. To reunite Connie and Andy, Joan pretends he was nothing but a passing fling to her. She hopes to find real love herself, some day. Also: "Mama's Girl" with art by Marty Elkin - Carol feels suffocated by her widowed mother, who manages the personnel department of the store where they both work, and encourages Carol to date only men who have bright futures. Carol falls in love with store employee Mike Harrison but her mother disapproves and has Mike fired. Carol decides to marry him and move to the new town where Mike now works, over the objections of her mother (who has now lost her own job due to her domineering ways). And: "Meant for Marriage" with pencils by Herb Familton - Susan refuses to marry Ted before his overseas military deployment, fearing he'll be killed. They break up. Vivian, a lady on a nearby park bench, tells Susan the story of her long-ago romance with Jim. She wanted to wait to marry until Jim finished law school and became successful. Vivian turns down other suitors, but Jim never comes back and one day she learns he married someone else. A lifelong spinster now, Vivian urges Susan to marry Ted right away and the young couple is happily reunited. After they're gone, Vivian greets her long-time husband, Jim. She lied!     Stories by unknown. Art by Tom Feelings, Ed Smalle and unknown. "Dread Past" - Young nurse Alice becomes a "wild-eyed, frenzied dope addict" through the influence of Jack. They're both arrested and sent to prison; after a year, Alice is released and moves to a small town where the local hospital desperately needs nurses. She falls in love with Mark, the hospital director and head surgeon. Jack is brought into the hospital for emergency surgery and dies on the operating table. Alice thinks she subconsciously killed him. She admits her past to Mark. Mark says he still loves her and Jack died as a result of his wounds. Plus: "Blues" with art by Tom Feelings - Singer Ellen is coached by pianist Roy and they become a popular musical act and also fall in love. Ellen leaves the act when offered a Broadway job, despite Roy's warning that she isn't ready. Failing on Broadway, Ellen is forced to perform in sleazy dives. One day, Roy shows up to accompany her. He also rescues her from the lecherous club manager. Roy and Ellen restart their career and romance. Also: "Love Bait" with art by Ed Smalle - Jane learns her brother Rob is returning after 2 years' military service. She discovers Rob's girlfriend Ann has fallen in love with Bart in the meantime. Bart isn't serious about Ann, so Jane pretends to fall for him to cause a break-up. Rob and Ann arrive and catch Bart and Jane together. Jane's plan works: Bart is sent packing, and Rob and Ann get married. And: "Gang Moll" with art by Ed Smalle - Meg is a nightclub hatcheck girl whose boss Rico constantly propositions her. She really loves police detective Tim, but they can't get married until he receives a promotion. Proving Rico is a crime boss would solve the problem. Meg pretends to break up with Tim and becomes Rico's girlfriend. She tips off the police to the gang's activities but Rico learns of this and sets up an ambush. Meg is wounded while warning Tim and his men of the trap. Rico is arrested and Meg marries Tim at last. Plus: 2-page text story "Forgetfulness" by Edwin Green with illos by Don Heck. Also: untitled Today's Problem 1-pager (by unknown) - Over her parents' objections, Mary elopes with Ken. He proves to be a bad husband and they divorce, leaving her with an infant child to care for.
