Art by Pete Morisi and others. Cover by Wally Wood. An adaptation of the classic novel by Herman Melville. Numbering continues from Feature Presentation Black Tarantula (1950) #5. Young sailor Ishmael joins the crew of the whaling ship Pequod, run by Captain Ahab. Too late, he learns Ahab has sworn vengeance against the great white whale that claimed his leg, and his mad obsession could well doom the entire ship. The backup story is not an adaptation of the poem Wreck of the Hesperus, but a Skipper Hoy sea adventure in which sailors face smugglers. Ironically, Wally Wood later adapted Wreck of the Hesperus for Mad magazine; this cover was one of Wood's earliest. Moby Dick; Mystery of the Murdered Sea Captain; That Wreck, the Hesperus! 32 pages, Full Color. Cover price $0.10.
