Vol. 1 #1- March 1936. Before there was the Gong Show, there was the Major Bowes Radio Show. Edward Bowes would talk with contestants, list to their performances and decide their fate. Those deemed untalented were met with a loud bell. It was one of the most popular radio shows in the US in the 1930s.
