Jonah Jameson used to try and beat Spiderman with; During that battle Parker had to remove his costume in order to escape; While there he witnesses an argument between Smythe and a man named Raxton, which results in an accident turning Raxton into, the Molten Man; At first Raxton is confused when he walks out of the lab, but on the street he gets mad at a driver and smashes the car with his fists; Realizing his power Raxton decides he can be a super villain, but before he can do anything Spiderman comes in through his window and asks Raxton to turn himself in stating that so far no major crimes have been committed; A fight ensues; Peter graduates from high school. According to Les Daniels in "Marvel: Five Fabulous Decades of the World's Greatest Comics" (Abrams, 1991), artist Steve Ditko resigned because of a disagreement over the Goblin's identity. Doctor Octopus. Story synopsis: Peter and Gwen are off to the Science Expo with Professor Warren to see the "nullifier," but unfortunately Dr. Octopus is there too. Only he isn't there to listen to the lecture, he's there to steal it! After putting up a good fight, Spider-Man finally gets the nullifier back, but not before slipping a spider tracer on Doc Ock. Doc Ock finds the tracer when he gets back to his lab and decides to set up a trap for Spidey, but come on, Spidey isn't gonna fall for it. Aunt May and Anna Watson put an ad in the paper looking for a boarder at their house. And guess who answers the ad? That's right, the one and only Otto Octavius. "Enter Dr. Octopus." Young Mr. Parker is on the outs with Gwen Stacy after the misunderstanding with her father three issues ago. Peter would like to mend fences with his girlfriend, but he has a second problem. Norman Osborn is hallucinating about Spider-Man -- and that could mean really big trouble! In the meantime, the original Vulture has returned! Adrian Toomes did not die in Amazing Spider-Man #48. And surprisingly, the old Vulture wants to team up with the new Vulture (aka Blackie Drago). But Blackie wants nothing to do with Adrian, so the war of the Vultures begins!
