Death of Gwen Stacy in "The Night Gwen Stacy Died" Part 1 of 2. Script by Gerry Conway. Pencils by Gil Kane. Inks by John Romita and Tony Mortellaro(backgrounds). Cover by John Romita. One of the greatest Spider-Man stories of all-time! Peter Parker returns from Canada to find his world on fire! His roommate Harry Osborn has overdosed again, and Norman Osborn is blaming Peter for his son's relapse. As the situation becomes more and more stressful, Norman recalls his super-villain past -- and the Green Goblin lives once more! However, this version of the goblin is more sick and twisted than previous ones. And to get revenge against the web-slinger, the goblin kidnaps Gwen and takes her to the top of the Brooklyn Bridge. Sothen and there, the Amazing Spider-Man and the Green Goblin fight for the life of Gwen Stacy. But sometimes the good guys don't win. A heartbreaking ending. Cameo appearances by Mary Jane Watson, J. Jonah Jameson, and Joe Robertson. (Notes: This two-part story was a watershed event in the history of Marvel Comics. This issue was reprinted in Marvel Tales #98 and again in issue 192.) 36 pages. Cover price $0.20.
