At the conclusion of Avengers 154, the Earth's Mightiest Heroes fell in battle to Tyrak. Now Attuma has outfitted the Avengers with slave-collars, and sent them to Hydrobase to fight the Sub-Mariner. However, when the six heroes arrive at Hydrobase; they do not find Namor, but instead...Doctor Doom! Meanwhile, the Beast and Wonder Man recruit the golden age Whizzer to help them rescue the other Avengers.
