    Published 1971 by DC.

Original Art from Detective Comics #417 (1971) Page 30 Pencils and Inks by Don Heck

A beautifully drawn page that also happens to be a crucial moment in Bat-lore from the great Don Heck! After Batgirl aids an overwhelmed Commissioner Gordon in taking down a group of cop-killing radicals (who were themselves being set up by the mob!), all that's left is for the two definitely-not-related crimefighters to head home. Heck's inking is outstanding here, especially in the close shot of Gordon's face in the the third panel. The most notable thing about this page however is that it reveals that Gordon, through some deductive reasoning worthy of the Dark Knight, has known for a while now that his daughter is Batgirl. Pencil and ink on art board. 10 1/2" x 16".

The League has been adjusting to their new base of operations on the Overmaster's former ship, though the fact that it's still inhabited is a bit of a hiccup! Thankfully, some help from future JLA ally Yazz convinces most of the aliens to call of their attack...most. Also included with this page is a piece of vellum with various sketches by Wojtkiewicz- including one of Yazz, likely as part of his first appearance in this issue. Signed by Wojtkiewicz in lower right margin. Pencil and ink on DC Comics art board. 11 1/2" x 16 1/2".

It may not seem so at a glance, but this is a terrifying page! Imagine scoring a date with a Brazilian model/superhero and hitting the club for a night on the town only to be chased off the dancefloor by an angry mob who hates your moves and THEN you find out there's no chemistry with your date. This is the reality for Albert Rothstein (aka Nuklon) on this fantastically drawn page that perfectly captures the sitcom-esque appeal of this era of the League.
