Swan and Vey do a tremendous job depicting the vast effort expended by the King of Atlantis here, perched atop one of the city's tallest buildings! A truly stunning action page with a great storytelling flow, rich in texture and as eye-catching as they come! Batman is finally hot on the tail of the motorcycle-riding terrorist who's been targeting Commissioner Gordon. Newell lays out this page beautifully with a fantastic head-on shot of Batman on his bike transitioning to a series of 'widescreen' panels that enlarge by the end of the page as the action continues. Newell's crosshating and expert deployment of white ink creates a perfect Gotham atmosphere, as if anything visible is emerging from blackness and along with the onomatopoeia give this page an amazing sense of texture that really pops in person. A great action page from this Lady Blackhawk spotlight story! Mourning the recent death of Big Barda in her own way (getting wasted at a bar, starting a fight, and then hijacking a cab in Metropolis to take her to California), Zinda and her unwilling chauffeur are suddenly attacked by False Face and White Star. The highlight here is the third panel with a great image of Lady Blackhawk in a stone cold western gunfighter pose just before she effortlessly hits the cab's gas tank, buying herself some time to escape.
