These volumes are some of the earliest examples of Collected Comics. Companies, like Harvey, would archive their material by taking all the issues they released that month and having them bound into hardcover book format. The issues come complete with front and back covers and interiors. They were trimmed down perfectly to fit the hardcover format. Each year has twelve volumes, one for each month of the year. These are extremely rare items. Hardcover (No Dust Jacket), 288 pages, full color.

Harvey Kurtzmans legendary follow-up to the original MAD launched the careers of many future stars of comics, comedy and publishing, including associate editor Terry Gilliam. This issue features the second published Fritz the Cat strip by R. Crumb, and an early Wonder Warthog story by Gilbert Shelton. The highlight, though, is a fumetti about a man who falls in love with his daughters Barbie doll, starring John Cleese. Charlton Comics, believing Tarzan to be a public-domain character, produced this short-lived series before the Edgar Rice Burroughs estate made them cease and desist. It's an unauthorized adaptation of Burroughs' Jungle Tales of Tarzan, telling tales of a young Tarzan before he met Jane. An unusual item for the Tarzan collector. Stolen elephant meat gives Tarzan nightmares, in a story with art by comics legend Sam Glanzman. In another tale of Tarzan's early life, Tarzan wrestles with the concept of "God."
