This is the F Variant. Published around 1938 or a bit later. The F variant is identified by the copyright page having two dates, in Roman numberals, MCMXXV and MCMXXX (1925 and 1930) and 'Trade Mark' was added on the front cover underneath the title. The story that made the phrase "I Think I Can" has sold millions of copies. Based on The Pony Engine by Mabel C. Bragg, the story of the Little Engine That Could is retold by Watty Piper. Of Course, Watty Piper is not a real person, instead this is a house name used by Platt & Munk. Story is illustrated by Lois Lenki. Part of Platt & Munk's "Never Grow Old Series"; red hardcover; paste-down frontispiece; partial color/black&white; 6 1/2-in. x 8 1/8-in.
