Monsters from the Vault (1999) 17

This item is not in stock at MyComicShop. If you use the "Add to want list" tab to add this issue to your want list, we will email you when it becomes available.

Vol. 9 No. 17. Monsters from the Vault returns while Halloween is still fresh in our minds! Featured in the 17th issue is Richard Scrivani's article "Hated, Blasphemed and Condemned: A Defense of Son of Frankenstein," which looks at the much maligned 1939 film which featured Boris Karloff in his final performance as the Frankenstein Monster. In "Deserted Foxes," Gary D. Rhodes uncovers two horror films from Fox Studios that have received almost no attention in the past. One is The Spider with Edmund Lowe, the other is Almost Married with Ralph Bellamy. The latter is a particularly strong horror film, with its obscurity caused almost certainly by the film title and the lack of existing prints. And the conclusion of our three-part article entitled "Cliffhanging Horrors" looks at serials of the 1950's with a hint of horror in their story lines. Rounding out the issue are the usual editorial comments, letters to the editor, and DVD and book reviews. Each issue contains tons of rare photos, each beautifully reproduced. Magazine, 48 pages, PC/PB&W. Cover price $7.00.
