    Whee Comics #1 is a real oddity, a 7c cover-priced comic published in 1955 by Modern Store Publications, 45 West 45th Street, NY, NY. May have been distributed at this unique retail price, but likely also distributed by retailers as a giveaway. Three stories in this issue: Sappy Coon, Gabby Gander, and Robespierre. 36-pages, full color, slick cover with standard newsprint interior, 5-1/8-in. x 7-in., 7c cover price, Comics Code approved. Contains numerous ads for child-related national brands such as U.S. Keds shoes, Tootsie Roll, Bazooka Bubble Gum, and Nabisco Wheat Honeys, to name a few. NOTE: The three titles are know to have been produced in this series are: Gay Comics #1, Pop Comics #1 and Whee Comics #1. Others may have been produced although we think it unlikely.
