When the police want to take her fingerprints, Vania hides in the coffin, contracting a deadly desease and the corpse's wrath. "Horror Of The Ghostly Recluse" text story. With his Van Cleer alias lost to him, Killer Moth decides to steal the identity of Bruce Wayne (whom he imprisons in a vault), then hires a plastic surgeon to alter his face into an exact double of Wayne's, and fools Dick Grayson into believing he is Wayne and Dick doesn't realize at first. The Moth goes out as Batman, enhancing his criminal reputation by making it appear that Batman fears the Moth. Wayne escapes in time to see Killer Moth shot down by one of his own gang, thinking he's been double-crossed. Moth's face is wrecked by the bullets, and the resultant cranial injury causes amnesia in "Batman's Double!" with art by Bob Kane, Lew Sayre Schwartz and Charles Paris. Lars tries to help a baseball pro live up to a little boy's admiration of him. The writer for the Lars stories is Jerry Siegel, co-creator of Superman, who said, "I knew people would have difficulty forgetting a Martian with a Swedish name." Captain Ken Brady, Rocket Pilot, investigates the mystery of The Boy Who Wasn't There, in a story with early art by future Marvel legend Gene Colan.
