The long-running vehicle for Disney character comics featured art by Carl Barks, the legendary Good Duck Artist. Skulk and Tiny plan to destroy the lost tropical valley of Alaska, unless Mickey can stop them. In a story by Barks, Gladstone takes advantage of Donald's service as a volunteer firefighter. Scamp and Speedy have a contest to decide who gets a bone. The text story "The Band Concert" is unrelated to the 1935 Mickey Mouse theatrical short of the same title.
