The story is an adaptation of the 1954 film King Richard and the Crusaders, which was based on Walter Scott's novel The Talisman. While King Richard the Lionheart is in the Holy Land for the Crusades, in-fighting breaks out among the European invaders. Richard is grievously wounded, and only a Saracen doctor can save him.
