No. 1418 - May 04, 1904. Puck Magazine was a political/social humor and satire magazine published from 1871 to 1918, and founded by Austrian-born Joseph Keppler. Color cartoons separated Puck from other journals at the time, and featured some early attempts at sequential art by many of America's "first wave" of cartoonists like Eugene Zimmerman and Frederick Burr Opper (the creator of "Happy Hooligan," the first major comic strip). Every issue contained a lithograph cover, centerfold and back cover, and features many vintage ads and artwork. 10.5" x 13.75", 16 pages, B&W. Cover price $0.10.
