"Super Patriot Games" Fighting Chance Part 1 of 12. Double-size issue. Script by Mark Gruenwald. Pencils by Dave Hoover. Inks by Danny Bulanadi. Foil embossed cover by Dave Hoover. The star-spangled avenger receives distressing news from his personal physician! The super-soldier serum coursing through his veins has degraded in recent months causing Cap's sudden muscle fatigue. And now the Living Legend faces the possibility of total paralysis (in the next 12 months) if he does not give up his superhero lifestyle. But before the Sentinel of Liberty can make a decision about his future, he has a new crisis on his hands! Someone is masquerading around town as Captain America! And it's definitely not Steve Rogers! Embarrassed by what the imposter has done, Cap calls a press conference at Avengers Mansion! However the meeting with the press goes south in a hurry when the new Super-Patriot and the old Masters of Evil attack! With help from the Avengers, the shield-slinger temporarily diffuses the situation! But Cap's long road to recovery is only just beginning. First appearance of Dead Ringer. Appearances by the Tinkerer, Diamondback, Black Knight, Black Widow, and the Vision. Second feature: Two-page diagram of Captain America's Brooklyn Heights Headquarters by Eliot R. Brown.
