Comic Fables (circa 1890) is a very early promotional comic distributed by Washburn-Crosby, makers of Gold Medal Flour. Features full color comic fables with morals, all showing Gold Medal Flour as the solution to a social delimma. A great example of advertising art circa 1890. Full color, 8 pages, 3.75-in. x 5.5-in.

Advertising giveaway booklet that was distributed by the Wells, Richardson Company in Burlington, Vermont. Contains 16 pages of rhyming verse, all mentioning Diamond Dyes. All of the modified Nursery Rhymes are accompanied with black and white illustrations. 3 1/2-in. x 5 1/2-in. 20 pages, B&W.

No date, circa 1890's or earlier. Promotional advertisement booklet for Blackwell's Durham Tobacco. The front cover "Teaching Time" and back cover "The School Takes A Holiday" illustrations are both in full color. The interior pages, black and white, have two cartoons per page. These cartoons are based on familiar fictional folk characters like Jack and the Candlestick, Little Boy Blue, and Old King Cole. Each character is ascribed his or her own poetry, but the poem has a 'tobacco smoking' twist thrown in. The centerfold holds the self-contained short comic strip "The Course of True Love Never Does Run Smooth". 6 1/2-in. x 9-in., 8 pages, BW.

Each page of this humorous tale of a misguidedly affectionate elephant comes with a brief testimonial to the medical benefits of Hoods Sarsaparilla. Reprinted from "Puck" and "Short Sixes" by H. C. Bunner. It is illustrated with a number of small illos. Known to be printed with either a red or green cover (could be more colors). Softcover 4-in. x 4 1/2-in. 16 pages B&W.

Illustrated story tells how a husband's wife and mother-in-law are unhappy with his vile tobacco habit until a friend advises him to quit smoking bad tobacco and switch to Blackwell's Durham tobacco, which has a lovely perfume aroma, and their home is now made happy. 3 1/2-in. x 5-in., 16 pages, front side has eight panels in full color, reverse is blank.

Compliments of Drummond Tobacco Co., St. Louis, Mo. each page features an attractive color engraving. The booklet is written in rhyme, following a serial style similar to the old nursery favorite, "The House that Jack Built." It begins with Uncle Jack chewing his favorite Horse Show tobacco and continues on with the story of how it's prepared. Illustrations include a picture of Uncle Jack, a black woman by the name of "Aunt Levinny" working the field, and several of tobacco in various forms. 12 pages, full color.
