Indicia title is "SMILIN' JACK, No. 4." Untitled stories starring Smilin' Jack. Cotton Lee wrecks Jack's plane and Jack gets his pilot's license revoked. Jack refuses to smuggle munitions for Baron Bloodsoe; The Baron decides to have Jack pushed out of a plane without a parachute; The Baron and Teekeela use a deadly gas to kill everyone on a stratosphere airliner--except for Dixie, who he is smitten with. Jack searches for the Baron's hideout with the border patrol. Dixie comes home to find that Cotton, who had eloped with Jack's sister Jill, has left her. Cotton is deserted by the smugglers, but he manages to ride the plane down and survive. Jack returns with the smugglers, but is spurned by Dixie and Jill when they learn he was the one who killed Cotton. While recuperating from the surgery, Jack finds out that Dr. Medic is madly in love with Dixie. Jack takes a job as a test pilot to forget women, but is instantly the target of two women's affection. Smokey gets to be chief for one day. Smokey is supposed to be raking leaves, but decides to take a nap in the pile of leaves. Smokey gives an exploding cigar to a friend and it makes the round until it comes back to him. Fiddling Finnegan practices his awful fiddling at Smokey's firehouse. Smokey's son is supposed to practice the violin, but rigs it up with a clock's pendulum. Smokey decides to go to Texas for a vacation because it's all downhill on the map. Cookie bakes the Chief a birthday cake, but the only "candle" Smokey can find turns out to be a firecracker. Smokey and the Chief hide their clothes in a pile of sand while they go swimming, but the sand turns out to be cement. Scripts and art by Bill Holman. 68 pages, full color. Cover price $0.10.

With Easy gone, Wash decides to go back to his home town; He connects with an old pal, Gozy Gallup, but Gozy's wife tosses both of them out of the house. Wash gets a check for $3,000 for helping recover the S.S. Platonic's gold. Wash opens the Topsy-Turvey Club and is an immediate success. The law is helpless when Slaughter repeatedly vandalizes Wash's night club. Easy sets a trap for Slaughter, but Slaughter is warned and instead goes to the club where he roughs up Wash and demands the lease for the night club. Smilin' Jack is still being mistaken as someone named Powder, and he is forced to marry Boona Goo. Limehouse puts Jack and Fat Stuff in jail and to work in the sulphur mine. Smilin' Jack, Fat Stuff, The Head and The Claw escape from jail, but are eventually caught. Smilin' Jack escapes from prison again, and it looks like he may be rescued.
