Charlton Comics, believing Tarzan to be a public-domain character, produced this short-lived series before the Edgar Rice Burroughs estate made them cease and desist. It's an unauthorized adaptation of Burroughs' Jungle Tales of Tarzan, telling tales of a young Tarzan before he met Jane. An unusual item for the Tarzan collector. Tarzan tries to teach the ape tribe how to resist lions by dressing in a lionskin, but that almost backfires in a deadly way. Ray doesn't approve of Beth modeling for artists in Greenwich Village, in a story that includes dialogue like "Dig this cube" and other near-miss attempts at '60s teen lingo. Jane is torn between Bob and Jim, resulting in an outcome that none of them expects. In another story, Bob doesn't like the way new bride Sheila takes charge without consulting him.
