Adolescent Radioactive Black Belt Hamsters (1986) 5

They Want the Furs of the Adolescent Radioactive Black Belt Hamsters. Story by Don Chin. Art by Christopher Parsonavich. Cover by Mike Dringenberg, credited as Q87. One of the many martial-arts funny-animal comics that appeared in the wake of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles success, and nearly broke the comics industry. This one features hamsters with space-borne super-combat skills, and was the most popular, other than TMNT itself. On the run after accidentally destroying the Statue of Liberty, the Hamsters are aided by a woman from Clints past; the Pot-Luck Organization catches up with them at a theme park based on talking cartoon animals. Featuring an early cover by future superstar artist Mike Dringenberg. 32 pages, B&W. Cover price $1.50.

Volume 5 - 1st printing. Story and art by Amano Jaku. Translated by Irene Nakano. Doctor Inui's twisted "obedience training" may have turned Eito into a mindless killing machine, but Colonel Tsujiura insists on keeping Eito alive so Ewan can extract his powers. Can the survivors band together to escape, or will they all find a watery grave? Softcover, 5-in. x 7-in., 176 pages, B&W. Older Teen (16+) Cover price $13.99.
