When the Comics Code Authority cracked down on the comic book industry in 1955, horror comics all but faded from the scene. Enter Creepy magazine, publisher James Warren's tribute (after a fashion) to EC's vaunted horror comics line, which couldn't survive the Code's strong arm censorship tactics. Magazines weren't subject to the same rules, giving Warren the freedom to publish more mature content. Eerie, Vampirella, and other Warren publications followed. Stories in this first issue of Creepy include: Voodoo by Bill Pearson and Joe Orlando; H2O World! by Larry Ivie, Al Williamson, and Roy G. Krenkel; Vampires fly at Dusk! by Archie Goodwin and Reed Crandall; Werewolf! by Larry Ivie and Frank Frazetta; Bewitched! by Larry Ivie and Gray Morrow; The Success Story by Archie Goodwin and Al Williamson; and Pursuit of the Vampire! by Archie Goodwin and Angelo Torres. Features the first appearance of Uncle Creepy. Cover art by Jack Davis. Cover price $0.35.

Cover by Eric Powell. Written by Neil Kleid, Joe Harris, Dan Braun, and Mike Woods. Art by Angelo Torres, Bernie Wrightson, and Jason Shawn Alexander. What's black and white and clawing its way onto your reading list? It's the newly resurrected Creepy, of course! Now, don't fret, my putrid pets-these new terror tales are cut from the same cursed cloth as the outlandish originals, telling contemporary horror stories with gorgeously ghoulish art from a lineup that'll make you lose your head! Original Creepy artist Angelo Torres teams up with devilish Dan Braun on 'Hell Hound Blues'; Michael Woods and artist Saskia Gutekunst serve up a dose of 'Chemical 13'; Neil Kleid and Brian Churilla provide 'All the Help You Need' at a weird weight-loss camp; and jaundiced Jason Shawn Alexander brings his phenomenal painting skills to Joe Harris's 'The Curse'! Plus Bernie Wrightson, the return of 'Loathsome Lore,' and more. All this, plus one classic story from Uncle Creepy's dank dungeon, and you've got 48 freakish pages of terror to bring home to mummy! 48 pages, B/W. Cover price $4.99.

Story and art by Lee Sensenbrenne and Keiler Roberts.
In this picture book for grown-ups, sibling duo Keiler Roberts and Lee Sensenbrenner render a compelling-and downright creepy-modern fable about kids who are hooked on their digital devices.
Creepy is the contemporary answer to the shocking tales of the Brothers Grimm and bedtime moral stories like the boy who cried wolf or the princess and the pea: in it, Roberts and Sensenbrenner provide a shrewd and comical commentary on the increasing digitization of childhood.
