Stories and art by Boody Rogers, A. A. Wallgren, and Frank Beck. The creation of legendary cartoonist Boody Rogers, Sparky Watts was given superpowers by his pal Doc Static, whose inventions send Sparky on wacky misadventures. Sparky's marriage to Hedy is complicated by oddball factors, including a lack of wedding clothes and a dead-ringer for Sparky. Then a shrinking ray causes Sparky to disappear, leading Hedy to believe he's dead. Hoosegow Herman is a military strip about a diminutive private, sort of a short-stack Sad Sack. Plus a PSA for US War Stamps (a WWII fundraising drive), featuring FDR's Secretary of the Treasury, Henry Morgenthau. Sparky Watts; Hoosegow Herman; All in a Lifetime. 64 pages, Full Color. Cover price $0.10.
