The Original Master Of Time Part 1, script by Bill DuBay, art by Lee Elias; Restin Dane sets out to find out what became of Adam Dane, the first master of time, and travels to the future, whilst sending Bishop Dane back to 1892 to start searching from there; Story is prefaced with a couple of paragraphs from H.G. Wells' The Time Machine (1895); It is implied that the character Herbert is Wells himself.
