Last issue of the Wordsmith, Clay Washburn, who in the 1930s and 1940s, tries to make a living by cranking out fiction for the popular "pulp" magazines of the day and struggles with whatever life puts in his path. In addition to Clay's world, in each issue, you also often see the adventures of the fictional characters that he is working on. In this issue, "Old Dogs and New Tricks," with the war looming and the pulp magazines struggling to survive, Clay helps out some writing friends and they enter the world of comic books. Look for a cameo by legendary comic artist Jack Kirby (referred to as Jake Corby in the story). Script by Dave Darrigo and art by R.G. Taylor. Issue also has multi-page text feature and art on the old pulp magazines. Cover price $2.00.
