Tim's Store For Boys Promotional Comic. Full title as appears on cover is - Tim's Official Rancho Hand-Book Guide: Secret Code-Book and Official Signs, Rules and Don'ts for Official Pie-Eaters.
Some background first - Tim was a company symbol, rather like Buster Brown, for the clothing company Townsend-Ueberchein. Each month, the company published a mini comic starring Tim called The Knicker (later changed to Tim's Official Magazine) which contained comic strips, cartoons, text stories, as well as adverts for their clothing. The term Pie-Eater appears to be old slang in the gist of...a hip kid. The handbook itself is a supplemental to the mini comic. The second half of the hand-book contained the A to Z secret code lists needed to decipher words like "Spingle-Bell Chicko" that appeared monthly in Tim's Secret Spish Story and other messages found in the Knicker Magazine. The first half (heavily illustrated) of the hand-book briefly touches on the rules of the Pie-Eaters Club, but is mostly cute stuff about the place where Tim lives, the Rancho.
Mini comic format, 3 7/8" x 6 3/4", mono red color, 16 pages.
