As the Comics Code goes into effect, former horror comic Black Cat Mystery briefly restores its superhero star and her Code-friendly adventures. (Official title is Black Cat Western Mystery, but superhero Black Cat is featured on the cover, just to confirm this is anything but a horror comic.) In a Scooby Doo-style plot, Linda's film crew encounters ghosts in an abandoned gold mine, but they're actually crooks trying to scare the crew away from hidden gold. Linda encounters danger and drama among the lumberjacks while shooting a film on location in the Northwest. Black Cat tries to protect a film crew shooting a Perils of Pauline-style cliffhanger.
