Written by Jake Wyatt. Art and cover by Choo.
In The Well, Jake Wyatt and Choo have created a modern fable that explores the power-and limits-of wishes.
Li-Zhen's life on the archipelago is simple. Known to friends and family as Lizzy, she takes care of her grandfather and their goats, she flirts with the woman who helps row the ferry, and she stays away from the fog that comes in the night-and the monsters hiding within it.
But Lizzy's life comes apart when she steals a handful of coins from a sacred well to cover a debt. The well requires repayment, but it doesn't deal in coins. It needs wishes, and its minions will drown Lizzy in its depths if she doesn't grant them. Lizzy finds herself on a quest to uncover hidden memories, bestow great wealth, and face the magical secrets that nearly destroyed her family-and are now returning to threaten everything she has ever known.

Writtenby Scott Peterson. Art by Jose Garcia.
In this YA graphic novel, gladiators of the modern-day Roman Empire are enslaved teenagers who race monster trucks on reality TV.
In a near-future world where the Roman Empire never fell, only two things matter: honor and The Game. "The Game" is Truckus Maximus, a competition where drivers race against one another to the death. The best of the best is a young driver named Axl. The leader of Team Apollo, Axl drives hard and lives by a strict code of honor. That honor will be pushed to its limits by the Caesar, the cunning ruler of the Roman Empire, and the Dominus, the absolute master of the Truckus Maximus games who can change its rules at will. But Axl can't survive this race on his own. To do that, he'll have to embrace his team, including a defiant new racer named Piston.
Will he learn that family is more important than honor and The Game? Or will he go down in flames?

1st printing. Written by Benjamin Dix. Art and cover by Lindsay Pollock. A village in the crossfire of civil war. A family searching for safety. In the tradition of Maus, Persepolis, and The Breadwinner, Vanni is a graphic novel documenting the human side of the conflict between the Sri Lankan government and the "Tamil Tigers." Told from the perspective of a single family, it takes readers through the horrors and life-changing decisions individuals are forced to make when caught up in someone else's war. Set in the northern region of Sri Lanka, which was devastated by the civil war, this graphic novel follows the Ramachandran family as they flee their home after the 2004 tsunami and move from one displacement camp to the next, seeking an ever-elusive safe haven and struggling to keep each other alive. Inspired by Benjamin Dix's experience working in Sri Lanka for the United Nations during the war, Vanni draws on more than four years of meticulous research, official reports, and first-hand interviews with refugees. Elegantly drawn by Lindsay Pollock, it depicts heroic acts of kindness and horrific acts of violence, memorializing the experiences of the Tamil civilians against the forces that seek to erase their memory. Softcover, 10-in. x 10-in., 256 pages, B&W. Cover price $19.95.

In 1895 the Lumière brothers invented the cinematograph. Less than a year later, 23-year-old Alice Guy, the first female filmmaker in cinema history, made The Cabbage Fairy, a 60-second movie, for Léon Gaumont, and would go on to direct more than 300 films before 1922.
Her life is a shadow history of early cinema, the chronicle of an art form coming into its own. A free and independent woman who rubbed shoulders with masters such as Georges Méliès and the Lumières, she was the first to define the professions of screenwriter and producer. She directed the first feminist satire, then the first sword-and-sandal epic, before crossing the Atlantic in 1907 to the United States and becoming the first woman to found her own production company.
Guy died in 1969, excluded from the annals of film history.

1st printing. Story and art by Box Brown. Andre Roussimoff is known as both the lovable giant in The Princess Bride and a heroic pro-wrestling figure. He was a normal guy who'd been dealt an extraordinary hand in life. At his peak, he weighed 500 pounds and stood nearly seven and a half feet tall. But the huge stature that made his fame also signed his death warrant. Box Brown brings his great talents as a cartoonist and biographer to this phenomenal new graphic novel. Drawing from historical records about Andre's life as well as a wealth of anecdotes from his colleagues in the wrestling world, including Hulk Hogan, and his film co-stars, Brown has created in Andre the Giant, the first substantive biography of one of the twentieth century's most recognizable figures. Softcover, 240 pages, B&W. Cover price $17.99.

The wacky, high-action graphic novel companion to Animal Crackers, Scott Christian Sava's highly anticipated animated feature film.
