This comic series illustrates the love story between an orphan Yang Guo and his beautiful master, Dragon Girl, during the turmoil of the Song Dynasty. Their love was hindered by many factors, including protests from the conservative society which disapproved of marriages between masters and disciples. Though they met with many hardships and were later separated for sixteen years, their devotion for each other never diminished.
