Art and Introduction by Ferdinando Tacconi.

Originally published in War Picture Library (1958-1984 IPC/Fleetway) UK #49 and Air Ace Picture Library (1960-1970 Fleetway) #11, 37 and 54, these four stories showcase the art of the great Ferdinando Tacconi.

His style is immediately recognizable, with a very clear line work and some interesting curly cues done in pen and ink.

He wisely used an uncluttered art that, with the passage of time, became more and more limited to the essential. The care he applied to the environment and details of each panel he drew, especially in his way of presenting vehicles or his beloved aircraft, made him one of the top artists around the world. In fact, Tacconi would never hide his deep love for flying machines, which accompanied him throughout his career, both inside and outside the comic pages he drew.

    Softcover, 268 pages, B&W.

    Cover price $34.99.

    Foreword by David Copperfield.

When Roland Fargo Crump Jr. was born in 1930, who could have foreseen that so many of his creative endeavors would bring smiles to millions of people?

Rolly was a master mischievist in all of his endeavors. From his family-friendly Disneyland creations to his counter-culture Beatnik designs, the art of surprise was as much a part of his repertoire as were drawing, painting, and sculpting. In his early days at Disney Animation, Rolly made an array of ornamental propellers from metal eraser clips. What started as a creative pastime turned into an in-studio art exhibition and eventually led to the creation of the colorful "Tower of the Four Winds" for the 1964-1965 New York World's Fair.

Rolly's creative sorcery has always had a way of spiraling upward and outward to transform simple ideas into grand accomplishments.

Japan has produced thousands of intriguing video games. For any number of reasons, not all of them were ever released outside of the country, especially in the '80s and '90s. While many of these titles have since been documented by the English-speaking video game community, and in some cases, even unofficially translated, a huge proportion of the Japanese game output is unknown outside of their native territory.

Hardcore Gaming 101 Presents: Japanese Video Game Obscurities seeks to catalogue many of these titles, games that are weird, compelling, strange, cool or historically important.
