Written by James Patrick, art by D.J. Coffman. A parody of 1980s cartoons and toys, Lionxor and His Amazing Friends has a remarkably strong premise despite the endless humor. Former hero Lionxor lost himself in the bottle, but now that secret military group requires his services, as well as several other has-beens from the 80s. Among them are Anna May (who always seems to show her underpants), The Ultimate Guy (whose sexual orientation is in question), Interceptabot (whos taken an oath against violence); and the Go-Tron Tigers (grumpy enough to not combine into a robot, ever). This motley crew manages to stumble its way toward the enemy, but why were losers picked for such an important mission, anyhow? This question is raised by Lionxor, but hes not going to like the answer. 24 pages, B&W. Cover price $3.00.
