Issue #1 - July-August 1974. Amazing World of DC Comics was a regrettably short-lived (17 issues) magazine that published interviews, previously unpublished stories, humorous pieces, articles on DC super-heroes, and other DC-centric items of interest. Contributors included such luminaries as Mike Gold, Paul Levitz, E. Nelson Bridwell, and Bob Rozakis. This first issue includes the following: an interview with Joe Kubert, a piece on the Wonder Woman TV movie, Sol Harrison on the beginnings of DC Comics, Bob Rozakis on letter writers, a retrospective by E. Nelson Bridwell, a previously unpublished story called "Murder, Inc." by Jack Kirby and Mike Royer, How a Comic Book is Created by Paul Levitz, a retrospective on the Fleischer Superman cartoons and more. Cover by Carmine Infantino, back cover of Hawkman by Joe Kubert. Centerfold by Michael Kaluta of the Shadow. 8 1/2-in. x 11-in., 48 pages, black and white. Cover price $1.50.

Volume 1 - 1st printing. Collects The Amazing Spider-Man (1963-1998 1st Series) #1-21. Written by Stan Lee. Art and Cover by Steve Ditko. When Stan Lee first pitched the idea of Spider-Man in 1962, his boss was full of objections: People hate spiders. Teenagers aren't lead characters; they're sidekicks. He should be glamorous and successful, not a friendless loser. But Stan persisted and Amazing Spider-Man broke the comics mold. Peter Parker lived in uncool Queens, was always broke, continually worried about his Aunt May, was unlucky in love, and was constantly getting yelled at by his boss, Daily Bugle publisher J. Jonah Jameson. Spider-Man had the quips and confidence that Parker lacked, but learning to use his powers wasn't always easy. First available as an XXL-sized collector's dream, close in size to the original artworks, this compact edition features the first 21 stories of the world's favorite web slinger from 1962-1964. This robust collection of wall-crawling wonder will make anyone's spider-sense tingle with anticipation. Hardcover, 8-in. x 12-in., 710 pages, full color. All Ages Cover price $80.00.
