The League of Lost Men. Story by Lee Falk. Art and cover by Ray Moore. Pacific Comics Club reprints the comic-strip adventures of the seemingly immortal crime-fighter called The Phantom. Collects The Phantom Sunday pages from May 28th to October 15th, 1939. First printed in Italy for comics art collectors, this does not feature Lee Falk's original text, but is translated back into English from Italian. Likewise, the Phantom's costume is red on the cover, which is how the character appears in Italy. This issue includes the very first Sunday strip, a retelling of the Phantom's origin. The survivor of a pirate attack swears vengeance against all forms of crime, becoming the first Phantom. Through the ages to the present day, each generation has taken up the mantle, and the distinctive costume, so that enemies believe there is only one Phantom. Treasury-sized 9-1/2-in. x 13-1/2-in., 24 pages, B&W.
