Demon cover and story written/drawn by Buddy Saunders
Published by the S.F.C.A. and edited by Rocket's Blast guru G.B. Love, Fighting Hero Comics was produced during the golden age of comic book fanzines. Issue # 6 features The Demon in "The Tower Doom of Venus!" (guest starring the Deadman and Graviteer), with art and story by Buddy Saunders, owner of Lone Star Comics and mycomicshop.com. In this issue, the editor notes Saunders' use of a then innovative "wide-angle" panel, a device first used by Kirby in early "Adventures of the Fly" issues, and later used by Steranko in "Nick Fury, Agent of SHIELD." The use of "wide-angle" panels is now a common feature in "widescreen" comics like "The Ultimates" and "The Authority." Fighting Hero #6 also includes letters by Saunders, Paul Gambaccini, and Bill Spicer. Demon cover art. 20-cent cover price. 15 pgs, ditto. Cover price $0.20.
