In Korea, Leatherneck Jack and his team make a desperate attempt to take an enemy fort that has resisted air and sea attacks, in a story with early art by future Marvel legend Gene Colan. Sgt. Tripoli Shores and his buddies parachute behind enemy lines to rescue a captured American agent. Cover by Baker.     Matt Baker cover. "Tripoli" Shores and Leatherneck Jack star in separate untitled adventures; "Han River Death Trap;" and "Fly...or Die!" The "Leatherneck Jack" was drawn by Baker. Two page text story, "Troop Ambush That Failed." Despite the #15 on the cover, this is the 1st issue of the St. John/Charlton Fightin Marines series. The numbering picks up from The Texan (despite the fact that there is also a Texan #15), becomes Fightin' Texan with issue #16 and #17, then becomes Fightin' Marines again, begining with issue #2. Whew! To top it all, this issue is slightly oversize, measuring 7.5" by 11". Cover price $0.10.
