Cover by Ken Bald. Edited by Richard E. Hughes. Stories by Charles Spain Verral and others. Art by Ogden Whitney, King Ward, Emil Gershwin, Edvard Moritz and Leo Morey, plus one story by Al Williamson, Frank Frazetta, Wally Wood, and Joe Orlando. An anthology series featuring tales of fantasy, horror, and science fiction from legendary early independent comics publisher ACG. A couple studying ancient castles in Europe comes upon one that is the lair of an ancient vampire, situated on an inaccessible peak. Another couple accidentally flung into space on an experimental balloon lands on a purgatory planet inhabited by atomic mutants, in a story full of ludicrous science and genuinely disturbing art by King Ward. But the real gem is about a boy who accidentally summons the spirit of a vengeful sorcerer while playing with the skull on his fathers desk. This oft-reprinted story, Skull of the Sorcerer, features pencils by EC legend Al Williamson, inks by Joe Orlando and Wally Wood, and one panel (page 6 panel 3?) inked by Frank Frazetta himself. Lair of the Vampire; The Return; The Vengeful Spirit; The Domain of the Doomed; Giants on the Earth; Skull of the Sorcerer; Pursuit Into the Past. 48 pages, Full Color. Cover price $0.10.
