Flash Gordon. Cover by Jim Gary. Stories and art by Jack Lehti and others. Four Color is the collective title for Dell's long, irregularly published series of one-shots. This issue features an adventure of legendary sci-fi hero Flash Gordon. Flash agrees to test-pilot the experimental spacecraft RX-1 on a mission to the Moon. But it turns out the Moon is just as inhabited as the rest of outer space. Cool painted cover by an uncredited artist. Dell considered this the first issue of Flash Gordon (1953 Dell); series continues as Flash Gordon (1953 Dell) #2. The Great Nebula; Test Flight in Space. 32 pages, Full Color. Cover price $0.10.
