Frontier Doctor. Cover photo of Rex Allen. Art by Alex Toth. Four Color is the collective title for Dell's long, irregularly published series of one-shots. This issue is based on the 1958-59 syndicated TV series Frontier Doctor, featuring art by comics legend Alex Toth. In Rising Springs, Arizona, Dr. Bill Baxter faces unusual medical crises, some of which he can cure, and others that he must resolve with gunplay and fisticuffs. Bill inherits a gold mine in Canada, but it comes with a complicated set of conditions. Meanwhile, Canadian outlaws want the map to the gold mine for themselves. Bill tries to negotiate a peace agreement between the town and the nearby Apaches, but some townspeople don't like that idea. Plus fun facts about frontier medicine and snake oils. Frontier Doctor; Storm Over King City; Apache Uprising; Before the Doctors Came West; The First Patent Medicines. 32 pages, Full Color. Cover price $0.10.
