The Accidental Sherlock. The legendary Gabby Hayes, sidekick of all sidekicks in 1940s Western movies, takes the starring role in this series of mini-comics. They were distributed as a set of 5 for a Quaker Oats mail-in premium, likely published by Fawcett. Gabby's day off is interrupted by explosions, gunfire, and a chest hidden in the river. He soon learns how they're all connected, just in time to prevent a railroad bridge from being dynamited. 7-in. x 2 1/2-in., 24 pages, Full Color.
