Volume 22 - 1st printing. "1956!" By Al Capp. In 1956 Li'l Abner the Musical opened on Broadway. Starring such talent as Peter Palmer, Edie Adams, Stubby Kaye, Tina, Louise, and Julie Newmar, the musical ran for over 700 performances. This twenty-second volume reprints the 1956 daily strips and includes an introduction by television writer, comics scripter, and all-around showbiz authority Mark Evanier on the creation of the Broadway musical.
