Movie cowboy Monte Hale wanders the frontier, cleaning up the West one outlaw at a time. Monte sets out to find the truth behind the ghostly figures seen haunting a cave on the Shoshona Trail. Monte decides to turn the tables on a carny con-man who's running a fool's-gold swindle, leading to a chase around the carnival. A hero-worshipping kid goads deputy Jawbone Jeffers into a fight with Fierce Fred Pierce, twice his size and even meaner.
