Cover by Chic Stone. Stories and art by Chic Stone, Frank Little, Frank Bolle and Art Helfant. This spinoff of the popular TV/radio show provides a bridge between I Love Lucy-style domestic comedy and Archie-style teen comedy, two staples of 1950s entertainment. Margie dates handsome identical twins from South America, and comical confusion results. Margie's boyfriend Freddie (who looks like Archie in this story, except for the freckles) gets a job as a magician's assistant. Freshman Freddy (a different character, originally from Fawcett's Whiz Comics) tries to avoid running over a flowerbed with his car, and instead destroys the entire house. A Letter to You from My Little Margie; Juan, Too and Margie; Sorcerer's Apprentice; Corny Comes Across; All in a Day's Loafing; Freshman Freddy: Vexing Visitor; Number Please!; Rubbernose Randolph. 32 pages, Full Color. Cover price $0.10.

    My Little Margie's Fashions (1959) 1

This item is not in stock at MyComicShop. If you use the "Add to want list" tab to add this issue to your want list, we will email you when it becomes available.

Cover by Pat Masulli and Jon D'Agostino. Stories and art by Pat Masulli and Jon D'Agostino. A spin-off of the long-running comic based on the popular TV/radio show character. Both this and the "My Little Margie" comic included fashion and story pages featuring Margie in reader-designed fashions that identified the designer by name, even on the cover. In a truly "meta" opening story, Margie gets a telegram from Charlton Comics' editor Pat Masulli to discuss her new fashion comic. The Charlton staff pokes fun at themselves, as Margie visits the building "that looks like a Hollywood studio," meets the Charlton artists and writers, and also gets a step-by-step guide to publishing a comic book in 1959! An unusual piece of comics history. The Beginning; I Meet the Leaders; Time Out for Laughs; The Production Number; Color-Your-Own Cut-Out Dolls; Surprised Party; Selected Pin-Ups of My Little Margie. 32 pages, Full Color. Cover price $0.10.
