"Zippy the Pinhead's 29 Day Guide to Random Activities and Arbitrary Donuts" is not a collection of underground comix or syndicated strips, but an all-original trip on the Freeway of Fun featuring Zippy, Griffy, Half-Life, and the rest of gang. This highly-structured explosion of madness, satire and epic adventure takes all of Griffith's favorite pop culture themes — Ernie Bushmiller, junk food, commercial "cute," beatniks, cubism, modern Japan, Jean-Paul Sartre, Laundromats, '70s fashion, and Jack Palance — to their outer limits.
Softcover, 6-in. x 9-in., 128 pages, B&W.

Zippy the Pinhead is a pop culture icon.
The surrealist-leaning character is one of the most recognizable figures on the newspaper pages, seen by tens of millions of people a day.
Syndicated by King Features since 1986, Zippy is read in hundreds of daily newspapers across the country, while the Pinhead's trademark non-sequitur, "Are we having fun yet?," has become so often repeated it's in Bartlett's Familiar Quotations. His likeness has been graffitied on the Berlin Wall and aped for Saturday Night Live's classic "Conehead" sketches. In this new, almost square-shaped Zippy collection, Zippy visits his doppelganger atop the Leaning Tower of Pizza, talks Republicanism with several symbolic elephants, imagines he's in a Deputy Dawg cartoon and deconstructs King Kong - and that's just between breakfast and lunch.
He also meets Arnold Stang (the voice of "Top Cat"), stars in a 1940s Film Noir, hitch-hikes to Los Angeles to break into the television industry (with his mini-series adaptation of Allen Ginsburg's "Howl") and worships at the World's Largest Laundromat just outside Chicago.
Softcover, 8 1/2-in. x 8 1/2-in., 144 pages, PC/PB&W.
Cover price $18.95.The listing below is from eBay, and MyComicShop is not responsible for this item in any way. Some listings shown here may no longer be available if they sold or were ended by the seller after we last retrieved the listing details.

Story and art by Bill Griffith.
From Bill Griffith, creator of Zippy the Pinhead, comes the first-ever biography of Schlitzie, a major sideshow attraction from the early 1920s to the late 1960s.
Nobody's Fool follows the story of Schlitzie's long career. Today, Schlitzie is most well-known for his appearance in the cult classic Freaks. In researching Schlitzie's life (1901-1971), Griffith has tracked down primary sources and archives throughout the country, including conducting interviews with those who worked with him and had intimate knowledge of his life.
This graphic novel biography provides never-before-revealed details of his life, offering a unique look into his world and restoring dignity to his life by recognizing his contributions to popular culture.
Hardcover, 8-in. x 9-in., 256 pages, B&W.

In Zippy's latest collection of daily and color strips (with additional pages!), the tour of "Dingburg" continues; we drop in on dozens of Dingburgers and observe them in their natural habitat. The city "inhabited entirely by pinheads" can be seen as a metaphor for the world we live in today - or not. In any event, we watch as Zippy and his fellow Dingburg residents hunt and bag "Speedy Alka Seltzer," hear voices in their refrigerators, become addicted to Riboflavin, enjoy fondling newsprint, believe that "wahoo bark" attracts the opposite sex, and worship Joan Rivers.
There's also the extended series in which Zippy has a long (and donut-based) conversation with God and another in which we meet a pinhead poet who bears a striking resemblance to Charles Bukowski.
Are we having fun yet?

1st printing. By Bill Griffith. Comprising a full two and a half years' worth of dailies and full-color Sundays, The Dingburg Diaries is the third Zippy book featuring tales of "Dingburg, the City Inhabited Entirely by Pinheads"-Zippy's home town. There's even a long series of "Historical Dingburg" strips, chronicling the pinhead population through the years, from 1840, when Dingburg's "Town Fool" accidentally invented disco, to 1958 when Dingburg Beatniks flourished in the town's Bohemian neighborhood. Like, Yowl, man. God also has his own chapter (and verse). In the guise of a clip art "authority figure," he dispenses unwanted advice and conditional love upon the citizens of Dingburg. His tendency to cross-dress reaches new heights when he appears in a performance of "Swine Lake," wearing a tutu. Sacrilegious, yet sensitive. There are large chunks of Mr. The Toad, Zerbina, Little Zippy and the rest of Griffith's cast of characters throughout this expanded collection. Published in a larger 8" by 10" format, The Dingburg Diaries also features a big color section, showcasing Griffith's inventive palette. There are parodies of the paintings of Edward Hopper and Film Noir, and "Griffy's Top Ten List On Comics and Their Creation" a semi-serious mini-tutorial on everything (well, ten things) he's learned in over forty years at the drawing board. Softcover, 8-in. x 10-in., 224 pages, PC/PB&W. Cover price $29.99.

1st printing. Story and art by Bill Griffith. What? Zippy Hijacked by marauding speech balloon appropriators? This shocking turn of events and more is chronicled in the latest collection of the Zippy the Pinhead daily comic strips, Zippy: Walk a Mile in My Muu-Muu. In the aforementioned storyline, all of the strip's dialogue is usurped by balloons taken directly from old comics like "Beach Blanket Bingo," "Rusty Riley," "UFO Comics," "Mutt and Jeff," and "Steve Roper." Will Zippy get his voice back? And will he remember being abducted from a Kansas cow-lot by little gray aliens? Softcover, 160 pages, B&W. Cover price $18.95.
